How To Practice Self Care

Hello and welcome to this week’s blog post. This week I wanted to continue my discussion on mental health. With everything going on, we need to make sure we are checking in with ourselves and how we are feeling. Practicing self care can really help with checking your mindset. I have constructed my three tips on how to practice self care. Getting it out, doing things to feel good about yourself, and sticking to a routine can really help to get better at self care.

Get It Out

Getting it out can become pretty self explanatory and very effective. Two types of ways to practice this form of self care is to either talk it out or write it out. Talking it out can include anything from talking to a friend or family member, or getting some help. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. Talking it out can always help. Sometimes problems seem smaller once you have vented your worries. I, personally, use the method of writing it out. I am the type of person that writing it out in a blog post or my journal, can really help me to get things off my mind.

Feeling Good

Feeling good about yourself can be an easy way to practice self care by getting dolled up or by doing your favorite relaxation activity. By putting on your favorite outfit, it will boost your confidence and help your mindset to get into a happier place. Performing a favorite activity will help you to practice self care by simply doing things for you. Taking a bath, doodling, or even reading a book will help you get into a more relaxed and positive mindset.

Routine! Routine! Routine!

Developing a routine will help you to practice self care by taking care of your body, soul, and mind. Practicing a skin care routine, planning for the week, or doing some light yoga or stretches will help you to get your mind put into a calmer place and will be a great step into practicing self care.
