It’s Spooky Season!

Welcome to Karmen’s Korner! If you are a new reader, be sure to follow my blog to get notifications on future posts (it’s free to create an account). If you are a returning reader, then welcome back. This week, I am discussing my love for October and Halloween. If you know me, then you know that Halloween is my favorite holiday. From the weather, to the music, to the movies, I love all things October.

In case you missed it, I am doing Blogtober and I am going to be structuring every blog post of October to be Halloween themed. From music to movies to tv episodes to my tips on how you can have a COVID Halloween.

So, starting with the season, Fall has always been my favorite season. I love the sweaters, the boots, the scarves, the colors, the flavored coffee, and just the weather itself; not too cold, not too hot. The pumpkin spiced lattes are always amazing and who doesn’t love those pumpkin rolls. Also, I am one of those people that wears a tee and some leggings/shorts during the summer because I barely have any nice summer clothes, but in the fall, I have all kinds of nicer clothing, so it’s my time to shine!

Moving into the movies, I will be brief because I have a post about this coming soon, but Halloween truly has THE BEST movies. From Harry Potter to Halloweentown, you cannot go wrong. I always watch the same set of movies every year and I can’t wait to settle in and get started. I usually watch one or two movies a night to help spread them across the whole month. I save a select three for Halloween night. Can you guess which three? Let me know your guesses in the comments below!

October is just a really great time to get cozy. Grab some candy, a hot beverage, a blanket, put on some comfy clothes, and put on a good movie. I also like to add in some select tv show episodes to the mix to help space out the movies. Any guesses to what these shows are? Let me know below!

I think my love of October and Halloween does rely heavily on my childhood. I always loved getting dressed up and going trick or treating with my friends. The town I live in is pretty traditional and everyone always walks the same street for our Halloween treats. Some houses set up haunted houses and it is always so much fun! In my childhood, I remember a select few costumes: Minnie Mouse, witch, cowgirl, and Elle Woods. My tastes varied, obviously.

Who could forget the music? I keep playlists on my phone for Christmas and Halloween and the Halloween is my favorite. From the Nightmare Before Christmas to Into the Woods, I love it all. Feel free to let me know your guesses for what is on my playlist below!
