How To Create A Halloween Playlist

Welcome to Karmen’s Korner! If you are a new reader, be sure to follow my blog to get notifications on future posts (it’s free to create an account). If you are a returning reader, then welcome back. This week, I am discussing how you can create your own Halloween playlist. These are the songs that are on my playlist and they definitely set the mood. If you are interested in creating your own playlist, then keep reading!

HARRY POTTER

The first set of songs in my playlist come from the Harry Potter soundtracks. These are perfect for the playlist. The only soundtrack that doesn’t actually fit is The Goblet of Fire because it is mostly winter songs. Most of my playlist is Harry Potter.

Favorite: Double Trouble (The Chamber of Secrets)

THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

This is an obvious choice because it is a very popular Halloween movie and Tim Burton is well known. It is up for debate whether this movie is a Halloween or Christmas movie. In my opinion, it is more Halloween because I mean it is all Halloween characters, but it truly works for both holidays. I just love Sally!

Favorite: This Is Halloween

THE CORPSE BRIDE

This movie is one of my favorite Tim Burton films. I love the plot and all of the songs are so good. “Mayhew, silence that blasted coughing!” It cracks me up every time I watch it. Just the shape of the bodies and heads are beyond bizarre. The songs in this film are all so catchy and have their own humor. I love the little maggot!

Favorite: Remains of The Day

STRANGER THINGS

This one may not be the first to come across your mind, but it is obviously perfect for your Halloween playlist. All of the scores are great for the playlist and have a touch of spooky. From the theme to the score for the sauna scene, it creates the perfect atmosphere for October and all things Halloween.

Favorite: Abilities

MISCELLANEOUS

This category covers all of the random songs I have in my playlist. This includes Into the Woods, Coraline, the Halloweentown theme, the Addams Family theme, Studio Ghibli, and even the Teen Wolf theme. Yes, it fits. If you have not seen the Studio Ghibli films, you nedd to add them to your October watch list! The scores from these films are perfect for October and Fall. Tracking back, I also have songs like “Monster Mash” by Bobby “Boris” Pickett, “Blood In The Cut” by K. Flay, “Orinoco Flow” by Enya, “Physicks” from the Glass soundtrack, and “I Put A Spell On You” by Annie Lennox.

Favorite: One Summer’s Day (Spirited Away)
