Welcome to Karmen’s Korner! If you are a new reader, be sure to follow my blog to get notifications on future posts (it’s free to create an account). If you are a returning reader, then welcome back. This week, I am discussing how to have a COVID Halloween. We are all struggling with this year’s events and I am sure I am not alone in wishing I could go out for Halloween. This post has my tips for how you can have a great Halloween from your couch.
This is an obvious first step in creating a great Halloween from home. Pile up your DVDs, or download Disney+, and get started on all the classic Halloween films like Halloweentown, Twitches, Coraline, and The Addams Family. My favorite tv episodes to watch during October are coming up in next week’s post with my favorite movies being featured in the next week’s post, so keep an eye out for those! If you have read my post on why I love Halloween, then you know that October has my favorite genre of films! Whether you like scary movies, or the family-friendly ones, curl up and get to bingeing!
This step is crucial in having a COVID Halloween. Get that popcorn, grab a hot drink, and let’s pig out! I am currently on a diet so the candy won’t be a part of my COVID Halloween, but I definitely suggest grabbing one of those mixed candy bags! Now is the perfect excuse to grub on the unhealthy. My favorite halloween candy is Reese’s and Three Musketeers. It’s the perfect Halloween candy. Tip: put mini Reese’s cups/ Reese’s Pieces in your popcorn; salty and sweet. My favorite Halloween hot drink is of course Twinnings London English Breakfast hot tea, but some hot cocoa does the trick also.
This is the last crucial step in having a COVID Halloween. Music is key! If you aren’t planning to watch movies, then turn on that Halloween playlist and get in the spirit. If you need a good playlist to listen to, you can listen to mine through Apple Music here! If you would rather create your own, check out last week’s blog post here on how to create your own! Planning to watch movies all day and night? Me too! Grab a cozy blanket, get a spot on the couch, turn down the lights, light a candle, and have a happy Halloween!
