This week, I am discussing my night routine and how I stay productive even after I have worked a full day. My night routine starts the minute I get off work and doesn’t end until I go to sleep. It’s important for me to have a productive night in order to prepare for the next day as well as a good night’s sleep.
When I get home, the first thing I do is greet my dog, wash my hands, and refill my water bottle for the night. I try to drink at least 120 ounces of water a day, and at this point I am usually at ounce 90 from being at work all day. After that, I put my bag in my room and take off my shoes. I then wander back into the kitchen to make my supper for the night and sit at the table to eat with my parents. Once supper is done, I go take a shower and wash my face.
I then get into my pajamas and do my nighttime skincare routine which consists of toner, face cream, eye cream, and facial oil. Once this is done, I go into my room to put on some Chapstick, lotion, and hand cream. This is typically followed by laying out my clothes for the next day of work. This helps so much the next morning and allows me at least an extra 20 minutes of sleep. I take forever to figure out what to wear if I have to do it the morning of.
Once this part of the night is done, then comes my down time. I typically spend the rest of the night reading or watching whatever show I am bingeing. I will also take this time to unpack my work bag and jot down things to do the next day in my bullet journal. I make sure to finish my water before bedtime and then proceed back into the bathroom to brush my teeth and put in my retainer. Then it’s time for bed, so I spray my room with Bath and Body Works room spray, turn on my humidifier, and tuck my dog in. Yes, I have to tuck him in, or he will dig at his blanket and bark at me until I do. Once he is settled, I turn off my light and out I go.
