This week, I am discussing a book I read recently called The 12 Week Year by Brian P. Moran and Michael Lennington. I actually really loved this book! I have really been getting into goal setting and inspirational lifestyle type books lately. This book came highly recommended by Angie Bellemare to her YouTube subscribers and it did not disappoint. After reading this book, I now feel like I am more than ready to conquer my 2021 goals!

SUMMARY

The guide to shortening your execution cycle down from one year to twelve weeks

Most organizations and individuals work in the context of annual goals and plans; a twelve-month execution cycle. Instead, The 12 Week Year avoids the pitfalls and low productivity of annualized thinking. This book redefines your “year” to be 12 weeks long. In 12 weeks, there just isn’t enough time to get complacent, and urgency increases and intensifies. The 12 Week Year creates focus and clarity on what matters most and a sense of urgency to do it now. In the end more of the important stuff gets done and the impact on results is profound.

  • Explains how to leverage the power of a 12 week year to drive improved results in any area of your life
  • Offers a how-to book for both individuals and organizations seeking to improve their execution effectiveness
  • Authors are leading experts on execution and implementation

Turn your organization’s idea of a year on its head, and speed your journey to success.”

MY ANALYSIS

I thought this book to be very educational. Not only does it walk you through each step-by-step process in creating your 12-week plan, but it also gives you a strong introduction into the practices you will use in your creation process. This book provides key examples and strongly researched topics on how you can create a stronger vision of your goals. I felt very guided in creating my first 12-week plan and was able to effectively

HOW I AM APPLYING IT

I have used this book to the full extent. I created my vision by using their suggested critics as well as my three-year vision. My vision consists of the number of pounds I would like to lose, the size of audience I would like to reach on Instagram, YouTube, and WordPress, and the amount of money I would like to have saved. My first 12 weeks were pretty easy to create once I had my positive statements from my vision crafted. I made sure to list each vision goal and the tactics I can take to reach those goals.

HOW YOU CAN APPLY IT

The first step in applying The 12 Week Year to your life is obviously to get the b0ok. That is truly the only way you can get the full embrace. You can also craft your vision using positive statements and acquire the tactics you will need in order to conquer your goals. How will you conquer your 12-week year?
