Welcome to Karmen’s Korner! If you are a new reader, be sure to follow my blog to get notifications on future posts. If you are a returning reader, then welcome back. This week, I am discussing the ups and downs of progress. Some of you may know that I have been on a weight-loss journey and I have gotten to the snag in my plan. I have been working out for about three months now and that scale just ain’t moving. I can understand that it is muscle being gained along with water weight, but I am ready to throw my scale out of the window. I am noticing it in my clothes, so I guess that is what matters. I guess it is like my title suggests and it is all about trusting the process. With summer glooming right around the corner, I am reminded of the progress to make for bathing suit season. In trusting the process I am reminding myself daily to trust my jeans and not the scale. The results will show themselves in the end.
Within trusting the process, I am also having to focus on time management lately. This is a pressing matter now that it is tax season and I do work at a CPA firm. My time is consumed with a 6 day work schedule and I am having to really focus on what I do with my spare time. With this being said I now dedicate my afternoons after work to getting my daily house chores done as well as my workouts (on the designated days). This leaves my Sundays fully open for self care and resetting myself for the next week. Typically, my daily chores consist of laundry, planning, and tidying up. I also try to leave myself a little time at the end of the night to watch some tv or read my book. For instance, yesterday, I put away some laundry, planned out today, and then sat down to watch the United States Women’s National Team play Argentina last night before bed (it was a total shut out thank you very much).
Bouncing off of time management, I am also finding time to write for my blog and post to YouTube, which has been an interesting adjustment. I am also finding time to dedicate to something which I don’t want to give away quite yet. It is something I can’t wait to share with you guys and it is an absolute dream come true experience. Once it is official, I will definitely be sharing!
Trusting the process is something we all need to normalize in all factors of life. As one of my best friends always says, “it’ll buff.” What is something you are struggling with right now?
